The neighborhood is home to students who attend any one of the several universities and schools that call Mount Vernon home, as well as professionals who work throughout Baltimore and beyond. Mount Vernon is a transit-oriented neighborhood as it is the home to Penn Station, Baltimore's rail transit hub which provides access to Amtrak, MARC and Light Rail. The neighborhood itself is home to a wide variety of businesses and office space and is a short walk downtown to Baltimore's Central Business District.

  • Mount Vernon Place and the Washington Monument
    regarded as one of the most beautiful urban sites in the world – the country’s first monument to George Washington stands at the center of four breathtaking parks. Climb to the top of the monument for a gorgeous city view in all directions. The parks are home to the summer series "First Fridays" hosted by the Walters Art Museum, as well as various other free community events throughout the year such as the annual Baltimore Book Fair and Flowermart.
  • Over 35 restaurants, including the five-star Brass Elephant, The Helmand, the Brewer's Art, Minato Sushi, City Cafe, George's, Sascha's, the Red Maple + many more.

  • Access to a variety of transportation options including easy access to I-83/JFX and I-95. An MTA bus stop is located directly in front of the building on Cathedral Street, which serves points throughout the city. The MTA Light Rail, which provides access to BWI Airport and the city's Northern and Southern suburbs, has a stop just 5 blocks southwest of the building. Penn Station is located 7 blocks to the north, or about a 10-15 minute walk. The Baltimore Circulator, a free public shuttle service, is set to start in the summer of 2009 and is currently slated to have stops along the Charles St. corridor, 1 block east.
